The Palace has confirmed that Prince William and Catherine's youngest son Louie will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby at St James' Palace on the 9th of July.

The Palace announced the event on their official Twitter account, saying:

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce that the christening of Prince Louis will take place on Monday 9th July at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, London.

"Prince Louis will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby."

This date conveniently falls between England’s potential quarter-final and semi-final dates for the football world cup, something that Prince William will be pleased with.

After missing the FA cup final last month due to being the best man at Prince Harry’s wedding, William will certainly be attending these games if England make the cut.

Prince Louis is going to be baptised in the same place as his older brother George.
