New Zealand's cyclists have claimed the nation's first two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, as part of a medal rush that saw four claimed by Kiwis on the track in under two hours.

The Kiwi men's team pursuit won New Zealand's first gold at the Games, beating England by two seconds in the final of the 4000m event, and they were followed by the women's team sprint in standing on the top step of the podium.

The women's team pursuit had started proceedings with silver, and the men's team sprint ended it with bronze as all three colours were claimed in a busy stint at the London velodrome.

Meanwhile, 19-time Paralympic medallist Dame Sophie Pascoe left the pool triumphantly after she claimed gold in the S9 100m freestyle.

Her victory capped off a successful first night for the swimming team after Jesse Reynolds claimed silver in the men's S9 100m backstroke final.

Congratulations to all our athletes!
