Meghan Markle breaks royal protocol with controversial tuxedo dress at royal engagement

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a special performance of the hit musical 'Hamilton' last night, but royal fans are questioning what Meghan wore. 

The Duchess was wearing an absolutely stunning tuxedo dress whilst Harry opted for a more traditional suit.

Despite Meghan's stunning $700 outfit, there are questions surrounding the length of her tuxedo dress and the royal protocol.

According to Elle, Queen Elizabeth isn't a fan of a short skirt and made sure that Kate Middleton hasn't worn one since becoming a member of the royal family.

Knee length is the general rule around Buckingham Palace, so this was a very bold move from Meghan.

Even though Meghan's dress received a lot of attention after the event, this wasn't the drawcard of the evening.
