Meghan Markle to open South Pacific art show in London

A major South Pacific Art Show featuring a number of Kiwi artists will be opened by Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle in the United Kingdom.

The Oceania exhibition will open on Tuesday at the London Royal Academy of Arts. Some of New Zealand’s highest-profile Pasifika and Māori artists will have their work displayed in the exhibition.

Oceania will honour the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook starting his first expedition to the Pacific.

Associate Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister, Carmel Sepuloni will be at the opening and said it will be an honour to have the Duchess attend.

Sepuloni also said that artwork spanning from over 500 years ago will be displayed at the exhibition.

The exhibition is free for all New Zealand and Pacific Island passport holders.
