Sadly over 200 concert goers were turned away from Elton John's Wednesday night show in Adelaide, after being told their tickets were invalid.

Unsurprisingly the  tickets were purchased through controversial resale website, Viagogo.

Among the 200 people were Samantha Wells and her autistic son James, who was given tickets for his 22nd birthday.

Ms Wells told 9 News Australia, "This is something James really looked forward to, and when they said they were fake it was really upsetting".

Incredibly, two complete strangers came to the aid of Ms Wells and her son, and bought tickets for the pair on the spot.

"This man and this lady lent over and said we're going to pay for your ticket, and it was just beautiful," said Ms Wells.

John performed in front of 16,000 screaming fans at Botanic Park in Adelaide on Wednesday night, as he continues his 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Tour' which comes to New Zealand in February 2020.
