Rami Malek opens up about his ridiculously awkward encounter with Nicole Kidman at the Golden Globes

It has been hailed as the most awkward moment from the 2019 Golden Globes, and it isn't hard to see why.

Until he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live two nights ago, Rami Malek hadn't actually seen the footage of his encounter with Nicole Kidman.

His reaction to the clip was predictable, but it turns out that Nicole and Rami have met numerous times in the past.

"I've known her for many years despite what it may seem from that video," he says.

"So I thought I could easily go up and say hi, but in a moment like that it was very awkward," he continued.

Unfortunately for Rami, the clip has now gone viral on the internet and isn't going anywhere any time soon, so he better get used to it.
