Remuera Killing: Victim Named

The woman allegedly murdered in the leafy Auckland suburb of Remuera while out for her morning run yesterday was Joanne Marie Pert.

Ms Pert was 41 and is survived by two children - a daughter aged six and a 7-year-old son.

A friend of one of Ms Pert's relatives told the New Zealand Herald family in Whanganui were too upset to talk to media.

"It's unreal ... they don't have the answers, all they have is a broken heart."

Ms Pert was an avid runner and competed in a number of marathon events.

She lived in Auckland and according to electoral rolls, was a student.
