Drought continues for Blues

The Blues' Super Rugby drought continues.

They've gone down 13-10 to the Lions at Albany to stay winless through the first four rounds of the competition.

After an uninspiring first half from both sides, the Blues took a 10-3 lead into the halftime break courtesy of a try to captain Jerome Kaino.

The Lions caught up courtesy of Sampie Mastriet running over for a converted try, to go with an earlier penalty to claim the lead.

The Blues agonisingly missed the chance to level the scores when first-five Ihaia West pushed his penalty shot at goal wide in the 76th minute.

The Blues sit firmly at the bottom of the Super Rugby ladder, and face an in-form Hurricanes side in Palmerston North next week.
