The Wellington Phoenix's winning drought in the A-League has extended to four games in a row.

They've drawn 2 all with Newcastle at Hutt Rec, coming back from 2-nil down thanks to goals from Roy Krishna and a 94th minute free kick from Jason Hicks.

Coach Ernie Merrick says they didn't capitalise on their chances.

Merrick says they're playing fantastic football without the results.

He says it's a little frustrating but there are too many positives to ignore.

The Phoenix remain fourth on the ladder.
