Breakers centre Ekene Ibekwe continues to dwell on his dramatic championship-winning play.

The import centre slotted a stunning buzzer-beater jump shot at the death for the Breakers to steal an 83-81 victory over Cairns on the North Shore.

Ibekwe says the moments after were pretty incredible.

"When it first happened I couldn't even speak i was just overwhelmed.

"But I'm just happy that it went in and now I have to take that long flight back to Australia."

Ibekwe is now off-contract, but says he'd love to return.

"It's a great place, great place to live.

"It's a good organisation, you know. They treat you like family and that's something I haven't seen playing abroad, you know.

"I would definitely like to come back here."

Ibekwe says the culture at the Breakers is something extremely special.

"I had fun this whole time I've been here. It's a lot of fun.

"It's the most fun I've had actually just playing ball with a good group of guys.

"We've been a team from the beginning."
