Lydia Ko remains in prime position to claim her first Australian women's golf Open crown.

The world number one has a share of the lead heading into the final round at Royal Melbourne.

She's carded a one-under 72 in her third round to sit at seven-under par, alongside another teenager, Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn.

Ko says she struggled to get close to the pin.

"It's tough when you know you need to make birdies, but are struggling to make pars, and that's what I was doing."

South Korea's Amy Yang is alone in third, a shot behind Ko and Jutanugarn.
