A new survey has found what New Zealand's favourite Christmas movie is.

Just like what we did with Christmas songs over the past week, where we found that Snoopy's Christmas was New Zealand's favourite, the results of this survey may not surprise you.

It turns out that Love Actually is our favourite!

The survey received over 5000 votes of which 23 percent were in favour of the 2003 star-studded festive flick, Home Alone came in at second with 19 percent of the votes.

Other honourable mentions go to The Sound Of Music with 14 percent of the votes, Die hard with 6.4 percent, and The Nightmare Before Christmas with 6 percent.

Sarah Moore from Neighbourly commented on the survey results, saying that Christmas movies are just one of those things that "everyone has an opinion on".

"While it was no great surprise to see Love Actually come out on top, I'm going to sound like a grinch and say that it's actually one of my least favourite. There's just a bit too much cheese for me. I'm a Sound of Musicfan for the simple reason that it brings back memories of my wonderful Nana who is no longer with us. I'd do anything to have another Christmas with her, a singing-dancing Julie Andrews followed by the Queen's Christmas Message."
