The Beatles took home their first Grammy in nearly 30 years for the music video of I'm Only Sleeping at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards earlier this week.

They last won a Grammy at the 39th awards ceremony, in 1997.

The animated video for I'm Only Sleeping was released last year to celebrate the re-release of their 1966 album Revolver.

Assembled by artist and director Em Cooper, the video looks like an animated oil painting, with the visuals beautifully matching the harmonies, experimental recording methods and avant-garde composition of this dreamlike song, reminiscent of The Beatles’ pioneering approach to the music of Revolver.

To make the video she painted every frame individually with oil paint on sheets of celluloid - a process that took many months. The illustrations were themed around exploring the space between dreaming and wakefulness.
