Paul Sinha is a fan favourite on The Chase, with his great quips and quick wit ... but sadly the much-loved Chaser won't be making an appearance on the upcoming second season of the spin-off show, Beat The Chasers.

The series usually sees Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan and 'The Sinnerman' all unite, but eagle-eyed viewers noticed he was missing from a promo for the new series.

And now Hegerty has revealed Sinha - who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 - wasn't able to film the series due to illness.

She said: "He wasn’t very well. He is a lot better now. And he is looking forward to getting back to where he was. He was tempted to get back to work as soon as possible.

"It didn't feel quite right without Paul. It doesn't feel quite right if any of us are missing.

"But we'd always intended to film with all six Chasers. And then, when one of us suddenly couldn't, they rebuilt the set and they repositioned the lights, and we went ahead with just the five of us!"

Instead, former contestant and new Chaser Darragh – who banked £9,000 on the show back in 2017 – will be making his debut on the series.
