The annual Jaffa Race is taking place today on Dunedin's Baldwin St, the steepest street in the world.

It's part of the Cadbury chocolate carnival that finishes today.

Up to 15,000 people are expected to be in and around the street as part of the festivities.

As to what colour the Jaffas will be, events manager Kylie Ruwhiu-Karawana is keeping her lips sealed.

She says all will be revealed when they're released around 1pm.
