The first official teaser trailer for the live-action remake of Pinocchio starring Tom Hanks has been released!

It's an iconic movie we've all seen at some point in our lives, so it's no surprise that it's getting a live-action remake ...

And now we've had our first look at director Robert Zemeckis' (Forrest Gump) upcoming reimagining of Pinocchio, inspired by the 1940 animated classic.

The much-loved characters are all seen in flashes in the trailer, which is set to the beloved Disney tune, 'When You Wish Upon a Star.'

While woodcarver Geppetto can be heard reciting the iconic prayer from the original film: "Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight."

The star-studded cast includes Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, Cynthia Erivo plays the Blue Fairy, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth steps into the titular role.

The live-action adaptation hits Disney+ on September 8 and we can't wait!
