This Is New Zealand's Most Neighbourly City

Nelson might be known for it's sunny weather, outdoor pursuits and great food and wine it's also just been named the winner of the first ever Neighbours Day Aotearoa - City of the year. The title means it is the city with the most friendly neighbours in the country.Â
You might be wondering what the criteria was to win this title. More than 65 Streets in Nelson organised events as part of  Neighbours Day Aotearoa in March, the highest per capita participation of any city.
About 1100 streets around the country took part in Neighbours Day Aotearoa, organising events from street barbecues to sharing a cuppa with the people next door.
Earlier in the year, Paraparaumu, which had 38 streets participate, was named Town of the Year.
