"Extremely brave" "left us in shock" were words that described what happened over the weekend at a popular Indian 24 hour news channel.

After a reporter phoned in details of a fatal incident where 4 of the 5 occupants in a Renault Duster had been killed, Surpreet Kaur read out the bulletin.

Even though she knew that her husband would be travelling down that same stretch of road in a Renault Duster, it didn't occur to her at the time that her husband may have been affected.

She held her composure the whole time that she was in the studio, and reportedly only broke down after she had left.

The senior editor for the station said that they realised that her husband was one of the ones affected, but didn't have the heart to tell her during the bulletin.

Here's the video of the report, hear how she holds her composure even after she hear news from the field reporter that no one would want to hear.

Apologies for the audio quality.
