Samantha Hayes has welcomed her first baby with partner Jeroen Blaauw into the world!

The TV presenter gave birth to her son, Marlow River Blaauw, on Thursday 19 September, with the newborn weighing 7.5 pounds.

Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, the proud new mum wrote: "News so good we had to keep it to ourselves for a while.

"Marlow River Blaauw was born at 8.38pm on 19.09.19 weighing 3.38kg (7.5 pounds).

"He’s a determined, snuffly, beautiful wee boy & we love him to pieces.

"Huge thanks to the team who got him here safely & who have looked after us since.."

Speaking to Woman's Day magazine in July, Samantha revealed that Jeroen was "so excited" to be having a son.

Hayes met Jeroen four years ago whilst travelling in Brazil, but the pair didn't take their friendship to the next level until one such mountain climbing trip - an effort to climb Mount Aconcagua in the Andes.

Hayes found out she was pregnant upon their return home and says it was "very much a happy surprise".

"I'm 35 now and it's definitely the right time for me to have a baby. I feel extremely lucky that it's come along."

Congratulations Samantha and Jeroen!
