After spending the past two months in Japan - winning the bronze medal in the women's shot put at the Tokyo Olympics and supporting her sister Lisa Adams at the Paralympics - Dame Valerie Adams is making up for lost time away from her children.
Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old medalist shared a heartwarming collection of photos of her spending some much-needed quality time with her daughter Kimoana.
The Kiwi shot put champion captioned the post: "Making up for lost time with my princess 💓
"Kimoana was super focused and loved painting my face. I enjoyed observing her closely and seeing how much she loved painting."
Winning the bronze with a throw of 19.62m, Adams has now won a medal at four consecutive Olympics.
Following the event, she told reporters:Â "This means so much more than winning my gold medals, I've worked so hard to be here today, I've worked so hard to put myself in a situation where I had the opportunity to try and win a medal for New Zealand.
"From the last Olympics to these Olympics I've had two humans and these two children really inspire me. Throughout the competition, I kept looking up to the stand and imagining them there."
Adams is also a mum to son Kepaleli.
