Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wont be attending Prince Charles' 70th birthday party

Later this year, Prince Charles will be turning 70 and the royal family is going to celebrate appropriately.

Three weeks before his birthday, which is on the 14th of November, there will be a concert and dinner held at Buckingham Palace.

Despite his father's significant birthday, Harry will not be present.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be on their first royal tour together down under while this party is happening.

On this tour, the newlyweds will be visiting Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga.

Today The Prince of Wales's 70th Birthday Patronage Celebration was held at Buckingham Palace. The event celebrated the achievements of His Royal Highness' Patronages, Military affiliations, the charities HRH supports & others involved in public service. Ahead of The Prince's 70th birthday later this year, HRH and The Duchess of Cornwall were joined by 6,500 people from 386 of HRH's patronages, as well as people representing all 18 of HRH's military affiliations. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also attended the event, their first since they were married on Saturday. #PrinceandPatron

Even though the couple won't be attending Charles' actual party, earlier this year they attended a party to celebrate Charles' birthday instead of going on their honeymoon.
