3/11 9. Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey – Dirty Dancing (1987). Swayze and Grey apparently hated each other from their previous collaboration in "Red Dawn." Swayze allegedly found Grey intensely irritating to work with. “She’d slip into silly moods, forcing us to do scenes over and over,” he later wrote in his memoir. However, the pair did eventually become friends.

4/11 8. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes – Romeo + Juliet (1996). Danes found DiCaprio irritatingly immature. Danes allegedly became fed up with DiCaprio's habit of playing pranks on the cast and crew, while, Leo in turn found Danes annoyingly reserved and uptight.

5/11 7. Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon - Four Christmases (2008). Witherspoon and Vaughn apparently clashed over filming styles while shooting the film. She's a one-take perfectionist, while he likes to try it a few different ways.

6/11 6. Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier - The Prince And The Showgirl (1957). Olivier described Monroe as 'the stupidest, most self-indulgent tart I have ever come across'.

7/11 5. William Baldwin and Sharon Stone – Sliver (1993). During the making of this film Stone enjoyed "torturing" Baldwin between takes, purely to amuse herself. During one kissing scene, she allegedly bit her co-star's tongue so hard that he wasn’t able to speak for a week afterwards.

8/11 4. Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts – I Love Trouble (1994). The pair clashed on the set of the romantic comedy, during which they reportedly ended up having to shoot some of their scenes separately. Afterwards, Roberts described Nick Nolte as “completely disgusting”, while Nolte's take on Roberts was: “she’s not a nice person, everyone knows that.”

9/11 3. Pierce Brosnan and Teri Hatcher – Tomorrow Never Dies (1998). Brosnan wasn't too keen on working with Bond girl Hatcher: the actor resented Hatcher for her poor timekeeping and late arrivals on set. It eventually transpired that poor Hatcher was pregnant and suffering from morning sickness.

11/11 1. Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams – The Notebook (2004). While Allie and Noah were arguing, breaking up, and eventually reconciling, Gosling and McAdams were just arguing. The pair would "scream and shout" at each other. But all that tension was clearly a sign of something deeper: after the film was finished, Gosling and McAdams ended up dating for three years.
