A couple were crowned Slimmers of the Year yesterday after losing 139kgs between them – after he flattened a chair at a barbecue.
Chris Coulter, 51, weighed in at 187kgs before he lost half his body weight.
He was so large he regularly stopped breathing due to sleep apnoea – and partner Lesley Hutchinson, 55, feared he might die.
But the humiliation of the broken chair in the summer of 2010 saw them launch a joint effort to lose weight.
Chris, now 78kgs, has seen his waist shrink from 66" to 34" while Lesley, once 97kgs, is now a trim 69kgs.
She also dropped 10 dress sizes from 22 to 12.
