Just when you thought you'd seen enough cat memes to last you a lifetime - another feline star rises to fame.
Meet Melissa, the Scottish Fold cat with a tendency to stick out her very long tongue, which has earned her comparisons to Albert Einstein.
It is unclear exactly why Melissa has this particular habit, but her whimsical portraits, taken by her Russia-based owner Alina Esther, are proving rather popular.
Melissa, who has more than 6,000 followers on her dedicated Instagram page, is the same breed as Taylor Swift's beloved cats, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson.
Scottish Folds are instantly recognisable by their flattened ears, but Melissa's protruding tongue is not a typical feature of the breed.
The adorable and presumably very compliant feline regularly appears in photos sporting accessories; from bow ties and tiaras to wigs and flower crowns.
