A French mansion has become the most expensive property ever sold, at a staggering £200million!
It is said to have been purchased by a Middle Eastern buyer who requested anonymity.
The Chateau Louis XIV was completed in 2011 but bares all the hallmarks, furniture and decor of an opulent 17th century-inspired estate.
Located between Versailles and Marly-le-Roi on 57 acres of lush greenery, its sale price eclipsed that of the previous record holder - a £147million London penthouse.
The property boasts two lavish ballrooms, indoor and outdoor pools, underground nightclub, a cavernous wine cellar with space for 3,000 bottles, a squash court, home cinema and an underwater room complete with fishes swimming inside the transparent walls.
There are 10 bedroom suites, a grand reception room with a 52ft-high frescoed dome ceiling, a library, and a “meditation room”.
It is finished with stunning gold features, marble floors and intricate murals akin to Michelangelo's masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel.
The original property which was replaced by the Chateau Louis XIV, as it stands, consisted of several, disparate plots of farmland and chestnut groves.
