Getting pulled over by cops could totally ruin a first date, or, if you’re like one Michigan couple, it could be a wonderful story to tell your children one day.

Trevor Ross was pulled over by police officers in Royal Oak, Michigan, the first time he went out with his now-fiancé Ashley Phifer on April 17, 2013.

Two years later to the day, the inventive romantic arranged to be pulled over in the same town again, but this time, he had some 'contraband' on him (of the diamond variety, that is).

Trevor planned ahead of time with the two officers, who ensured that the dashcam on their police car would record the entire proposal.
