3/5 Andy Newman died from unknown causes on March 30, 2016, at the age of 73. Newman, a pianist, released a solo album, 'Rainbow', in 1971 after the band broke up. In 2010, Newman assembled a new version of Thunderclap Newman with Mark Brzezicki on drums, Pete Townshend’s nephew Josh on guitar, and they spent the next couple of years touring.

4/5 John “Speedy” Keen, the band's drummer/singer, was originally a member of the Who’s road crew. He became famous for writing “Armenia City in the Sky” on 1967’s The Who Sell Out. After Thunderclap Newman, Keen became a record producer for The Heartbreakers and Motörhead, and worked as a session musician for Rod Stewart, The Mission and Kenny G. Keen died of heart failure in March 2002, at the age of 56.

5/5 After Thunderclap Newman, Jimmy McCulloch, a teenage guitar wizard, joined Paul McCartney in Wings for three years. His debut track with them was "Junior's Farm". On 27 September 1979, McCulloch was found dead by his brother in his flat in London. An autopsy found that McCulloch died of heart failure due to morphine and alcohol poisoning. He was 26 years old.
