Toni, Jase, and Sam interviewed the Rigby family from Coastguard, and chatted all things water safety and the amazing work that our Coastguard volunteers do! Check out the video above.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Coastguard.
Without thousands of Coastguard volunteers nationwide answering the call of their communities, New Zealand would have no maritime search and rescue service. Our volunteers are the ones on the frontline, crewing rescue vessels and aircraft, operating radios, coordinating search and rescue incidents, and saving lives on the water.
Even if you only have a few hours a month to give or don’t fancy getting your feet wet - there’s a role for you in the Coastguard whānau.
It takes a crew to save a life. To apply to be part of Coastguard’s crew or to find out more, click here.
