Over a lifetime, the average worker loses seven years of sleep. Â That's the conclusion of a survey of 2000 people in 25 different professions by the Travelodge Hotel chain.
Doctors lose the most amount of sleep of any profession.
Remember – experts recommend we get 8hrs every night.
Here's a rundown of the average amount of sleep per night people in various professions receive:
• Doctor - 5.6 hours
• Company Executive - 5.8
• Emergency services worker - 6.2
• Tradesmen (Plumbers, electricians, builders etc) - 6.2
• Nurse - 6.3
• Taxi driver - 6.3
• Housewife - 6.5
• Retail worker - 6.9
• Bar/restaurant worker - 6.9
• Truck driver - 6.9
• Government worker - 7
• IT manager - 7
• Hotel and resort worker - 7.4
• Mechanic - 7.6
