This weekend one of the world’s biggest sports broadcasters is set to begin screening drone races. ESPN is covering the 3-day International Drone Racing Association event being held in NYC through Sunday.

To fly them, pilots wear goggles that allow them to see from the drone’s perspective.

The pilots will fly their drones at speeds of up to 100 KPH  through gates, slalom past flags and show off acrobatic tricks, participating in several individual and team races.

ESPN claims the activity is poised to become the next behemoth racing sport alongside NASCAR and Formula One.

So, do you think this will fly?
