“Sweet Caroline (ba ba ba)… Good times never seemed so good”

It’s the singalong that stops crowds in their tracks, Sweet Caroline was written and recorded by Neil Diamond in 1969, and despite only reaching number 8 on the US charts at the time, it’s become one of the most iconic Feel Good anthems of all time.

The song reached number 12 on the New Zealand charts in 1971. More than 50 years later, it’s still a Kiwi favourite, a staple at family barbecues, weddings, and number seven in your Feel Good 500 Countdown this year!

Neil originally said the song was inspired by a photo of young Caroline Kennedy, but later revealed it was actually written for his then-wife, Marcia... he just needed a name that fit the melody.

So good! So good! So good!
