Could you taste the difference between UK Marmite and NZ Marmite?

During a taste-test segment on The Romesh Ranganathan Show, Romesh challenged Bret McKenzie to spot the difference between two plates of Marmite - one from the UK and one from New Zealand.

Bret started confidently, claiming he could “just know” which was which. He even pointed out what he thought were obvious clues, like the colour: “This is clearly the wonky UK one… looks like golden syrup.”

But after swapping plates and taking a bite, his certainty quickly faded, much to Romesh's delight and Bret's dismay.

So pretty similar actually...

New Zealand doesn't have many culinary- This is one of the things. This is, New Zealand is so proud of this. And it's not even- There's no difference.
