This is one of those wow-but-so-easy recipes you’ll find yourself making every Christmas.
Golden, flaky pastry, creamy brie and sweet-tangy cranberry sauce come together in a wreath that looks impressive but takes hardly any effort at all.
It’s the kind of dish that disappears fast once it hits the table, perfect for Christmas or any time you want something that feels a little bit special without the stress.
The brie and cranberry combo is a classic for a reason, and the fresh basil adds a lovely finishing touch that lifts the whole thing. Best of all? You only need a handful of ingredients.
Ingredients:
🎄 1 sheet puff pastry (gluten-free works too)
🎄 Cranberry sauce
🎄 Brie cheese, sliced (camembert works just as well)
🎄 Fresh basil leaves
🎄 1 egg, whisked (for brushing)
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C fan bake. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the puff pastry on top.
- Place a small bowl in the centre of the pastry and gently press to mark a circle. Remove the bowl, then cut the centre into sections (like slicing a pizza).
- Spread cranberry sauce in a ring around the marked circle. Layer over the sliced brie and basil leaves.
- Take one piece of pastry from the centre, fold it over the filling and attach it to the outside edge to form the wreath shape. Press gently to seal. Repeat all the way around, trimming excess pastry if needed.
- Brush the pastry with the whisked egg.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden, puffed and cooked through.
- Allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Perfect for pulling apart, sharing, and pretending you didn’t just make something this impressive with so little effort.
