This "refreshingly honest" birthday invitation has gone viral on TikTok

A Canadian mother has gone viral on TikTok after uploading "the most hilarious birthday invitation I have ever seen”.

The video quickly went viral, currently sitting with over 5 million views, shows Natalie LeClaire reading and reacting to the extremely honest invitation.

"My son has come home with the most hilarious birthday invitation I have ever seen and I need to share it," Natalie began the video.

"As requested the theme will be ‘unicorns but with rainbows and maybe bats but there should be princesses and also Minnie and we need dancing lights,’ so … dress accordingly,” she continued.

“Please pack a bathing suit, sunscreen, puddle jumpers etc. in case your sweet baby angels decide our original plan sucks and the pool would be a better time."

“Needless to say, we will absolutely be attending because these are my people. This is the kind of mom I can be friends with," Natalie ends with.

The comment section was filled with people relating to the mum, and loving the invite, “I am so here for this! I can’t wait till the invitation Mom finds out how many new besties she now has!” wrote one person.

Added another, “Dude. I normally dread birthday invites but I would call off work for this one. It’s gonna be lit.”

Carys Roberts, the mum behind the invite, told Today that she "whipped up" the invite with the hopes other parents would "find it funny."

“Ultimately, I just didn't want anyone to stress about gifts. The last thing we want is for people to be spending a lot of money. We're really low-key," Carys told the outlet.

“I’ve received a lot of great feedback and I’m truly thrilled that people thought the invitation was so relatable and funny.”
