Watch: First teaser for HBO’s new Game of Thrones prequel

HBO has officially dropped the first teaser for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the latest addition to the Game of Thrones universe. 

Unveiled during New York Comic Con 2025, the trailer offers a first look at the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell).

The official logline for the series reads:

A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros, a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

The first season is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max on January 18, 2026, and will consist of six episodes.
