Alissa Sizemore is a true inspiration.

Ballet means the world to Alissa. But in May of 2014, Alissa lost her leg after being struck by a delivery truck while playing outside. Miraculously that hasn’t stopped her from doing what she loves.

"This has changed my life, but it hasn't changed me," Alissa said.

"I just didn’t want to give up. Dancing has been my favourite thing since I was 4. I don’t have part of my leg, but I can’t let that stop me. I still want to dance.”

And that’s what she did.

This beautiful video is from Alissa's first competition since the accident with her new prosthetic leg. There wasn’t a dry eye in the audience — and for good reason!
