The official video for Taron Egerton's cover of 'Rocket Man' from the new Elton John biopic of the same name has been unveiled and it is spectacular!

Taron – who is best known for his roles in Kingsman, Sing and Eddie The Eagle – has proven that he has the voice to take on the iconic role with his rendition of the hit song.

Because, honestly, he sounds EXACTLY like Elton!

The 29-year-old actor - who sings every song in the movie as he portrays a young flamboyant Elton - has blown everyone away with his impressive pipes.

In fact, Elton himself apparently thinks Taron sings his songs better than anyone else.

According to the movie’s music producer Giles Martin, "Elton said, 'I don’t think I have heard anyone sing my songs better than Taron'".

Rocketman is set to be released in New Zealand cinemas on May 30 – and we absolutely can not wait!

The film, which is directed by Dexter Fletcher, takes a look into the legendary musician's influential career and at the highs and lows of his personal life.

Rocketman also stars actors Richard Madden, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jamie Bell and Gemma Jones.
