Celebrate the Māori new year in Tāmaki Makaurau during Matariki Festival, from 7 June to 13 July 2025.

The star of the winter season - Matariki Festival - returns with an exciting line-up of more than 90 events and activities region-wide.

Enjoy kapa haka, delicious kai, light displays, live music, workshops and cultural events across Auckland – many are free or low-cost.

Gather with friends and whānau to celebrate the Māori new year and learn more about Matariki – a time to remember loved ones, plan for the future, and celebrate the present.
