When Christina Reitz, from Lakewood, Washington came home to find a crumpled note and $5 left on her front doorstep, she wasn't ready for what the note was about to say.

The boy left the $5 note to replace a wind chime that he took from the front of her house as the ornament reminded him and his sister of their late mother.

As soon as she read the message, she set out to find the woman so that she could give the money back, and get another wind chime for the sister.

The note said:  "I am sorry that we sold your wind chime our mom died and liked butterflies so my sister took it to put by our window I am sorry this is only money I have please do not be mad at us, Jake."

She posted the picture of the note to Facebook in an attempt to track down the kids, and was connected with the children's aunt.

She has now arranged a time with the aunt and is meeting the children.

Reitz said that she understood what the children must've felt as she too lost her mother at an early age.

She set up this Facebook group 'Jakes Butterflies of Hope' to keep everyone that wants to follow the story updated.

In an interview with King 5 she said - "I don't even know the age of the kid but I don't want him to be scared to come forward or embarrassed,

"There are caring people out there and I want them to know that. There is forgiveness,"\

We wish you all the best with the meeting Christina!
