The family emergency that caused Lionel Richie to cancel his concert

Lionel Richie is known for being an amazing performer, but he also happens to be an amazing family man that has his priorities right.

The star was scheduled to perform last night, but he sent out this tweet to his 275,000 followers stating that he's had to cancel.

Due to the devastating California Wildfires, and helping family evacuate to a safer place, I unfortunately have to cancel my show tonight. I look forward to returning to the stage this weekend and performing for my fans... https://t.co/tRMXiPOqUp

Fans were quick to respond to the star and let him know that they value his families well-being over his performance.
