For the first time in five years, Adele has taken to the stage in her hometown of London.

And it was a moment in which she was overcome with emotion.

Performing in front of a crowd of 65,000 fans at the BST Hyde Park Festival, struggled to hold back the tears as she arrived on stage to belt out her hit song, 'Hello.'

Wearing an elegant black halter neck off-the-shoulder gown, the 34-year-old singer told the crowd she was "so happy to be back" before adjusting the lyrics to say "I'm at home and I am dreaming about who we used to be" instead of "I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be."

Throughout the performance, the British singer-songwriter encouraged the star-studded audience, which included Tom Cruise, to sing along with her.
