Air New Zealand has made a cheeky dig at Prince Harry after he mentioned the airline in his memoir Spare.

In an excerpt from the book, Harry claimed his wife Meghan Markle had apparently booked an Air New Zealand flight from Mexico to the United Kingdom for her father.

"We told him, leave Mexico right now: A whole new level of harassment is about to rain down on you, so come to Britain. Now," Harry wrote in Spare.

"Air New Zealand, first class, booked and paid for by Meg."

The only problem is that the airline says it never operated flights between those two countries and it only provides Business Premier fares, rather than first-class as the book claimed.

Taking to Twitter, the airline poked fun at the claims, writing: "Introducing #SussexClass, apparently coming soon."

To which one person joked in the comments: "Any Spare seats?"

Spare is on sale now.
