ALF star Max Wright dies at 75

Max Wright - who famously played the dad, Willie Tanner, on the '80s sitcom ALF - passed away on Wednesday after a 24-year battle with cancer.

Family sources announced the news of his death to TMZ.

The entertainment outlet reported that the beloved star passed away at his home in Hermosa Beach, California.

The sitcom star is survived by his two children, Daisy and Ben.

He was married to Linda Wright from 1965 until her death from breast cancer in 2017.

The actor was first diagnosed with Lymphoma in 1995 but had been in remission for years following the diagnosis.

Wright, who began his acting career in 1974, had over 60 credits to his name with his role being the 2005 TV movie Back to Norm.

He also starred in popular movies such as All That Jazz, Reds, The Sting II, Soul Man and The Shadow and had roles on Buffalo Bill, Cheers, Misfits of Science, Dudley, Norm and had a two-episode stint on Friends as Terry the manager of Central Perk.
