Avril Lavigne gives Adele's 'Hello' a hauntingly rocky makeover in new cover and it's not bad

It was one of the biggest songs to come out of 2015, but can you imagine Adele's 'Hello' being given a soft rock makeover?

Well fans of the song might just be in for a surprise, after Canadian pop punk princess' Avril Lavigne put her own spin on the hit track.

Paying tribute to the British singer-songwriter, Lavigne's emotive and powerful interpretation of the song features a restyled rock accompaniment and fierce, angst-filled vocals. 

"I love Adele's song 'Hello' and have been dying to do a cover of it," Lavigne said in a statement. 

And it turns out, the feeling is mutual.

Speaking in an interview last year, Adele said: "Do you know what? I do like Avril Lavigne. Her first record, I listen to all the time. I think it’s such a great record."
