The full trailer for the much-hyped Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black has been released after a short teaser trailer earlier this year.

Starring Marisa Abela as Winehouse, Back to Black will be directed by Fifty Shades of Grey filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson, who also directed Nowhere Boy about a young John Lennon.

The film has the blessing of the Winehouse estate which is overseen by Amy’s father, Mitch, who is played by Eddie Marsan in the film.

An official synopsis for the film describes Back to Black as the "extraordinary story of Amy Winehouse’s early rise to fame from her early days in Camden through the making of her groundbreaking album Back to Black that catapulted Winehouse to global fame."

"Told through Amy’s eyes and inspired by her deeply personal lyrics, the film explores and embraces the many layers of the iconic artist and the tumultuous love story at the center of one of the most legendary albums of all time."
