John Travolta and Kelly Preston share sweet tribute to their late son Jett

John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston took to social media over the weekend to remember their late son Jett Travolta a decade after he unexpectedly died.

Posting on Instagram, the 65-year-old Grease actor and his wife both shared sweet tributes to Jett on what would have been his 27th birthday.

"A painting a fan made of my son Jett! Happy birthday my son I love you!" Travolta captioned a painted portrait of Jett.

"Happy Birthday Jetty, my sweet love," Preston wrote alongside a series of pictures of her and Travolta posing with Jett.

Jett, the couple's eldest child, died at age 16 in 2009 while vacationing with his family in the Bahamas.

The pair's birthday tribute to him comes a week after Preston shared an old photo of them with their late son, who was autistic, to mark World Autism Awareness Day.

"To my sweet love, Jett... you are in our hearts forever," she captioned a black-and-white photo of her and Travolta both leaning in to kiss a smiling Jett on the cheek.

She continued: "I send love to all of the beautiful autistic children and the wonderful people who love them. May we all shine and grant love and respect to children with special needs."

Travolta and Preston married in 1991 and share two other children together: Ella Bleu, 19, and Benjamin, 8.

Travolta recently opened up about his son's death in January, telling Us Weekly that it's "the worst thing that’s ever happened in my life."
