In celebration of the life and music of Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie paid an emotional tribute to his dear friend as part of the "In Memoriam" segment at the Grammy Awards yesterday.
Taking to the stage at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the 71-year-old belted out Rogers' classic ballad 'Lady', which he wrote for the country music superstar.
The American Idol judge appeared in a long black trenchcoat, while the screen behind him showed pictures of 'The Gambler' hitmaker.

"I miss you, Kenny," Richie said at the end of his performance. "I miss you, man."
Kenny and Lionel were close friends until Kenny died from natural causes on March 20, 2020. He was 81.
When I wrote “Lady“ for @_KennyRogers, little did I know it would be the start of a friendship that would last a lifetime. Singing this song at the #Grammys tonight, without Kenny there, was incredibly hard.
