Earlier this year, the world of sport lost a true cricket icon when Shane Warne passed away suddenly at the age of 52.

But Robbie Williams made sure to keep his good friend's spirit alive during his concert down under on Saturday.

Taking to the stage in Melbourne, the 48-year-old pop star paid a heartwarming tribute to the legendary sportsman's children, Jackson and Brooke, who were sitting in the audience.

Before belting out a powerful rendition of his hit song 'Feel,' Williams got the crowd to chant "Warnie."

During the chant, the 'Rock DJ' singer turned and bowed to Shane's kids in a touching sign of acknowledgement.

Documenting the moment on his Instagram, Jackson said it was an "honour" to meet the former Take That member.

"He was kind enough to invite our family and friends backstage to say hello. In the middle of his concert he started a "Warnie" chant and it's a memory I will cherish forever. Thanks Robbie ❤️."

Warne died on March 4 while on holiday with his friends in Koh Samui, Thailand.
