While the lesser-known actress doesn't have too many credits to her acting resume, we're sure she's likely to become a household name after landing the role of a young Lady Diana Spencer in the acclaimed Netflix drama.

But fans will have to wait a while before she graces our TV screens, as Corrin won't appear in the upcoming third season of the series - which is due out later this year - but will instead feature in season four.

Corrin has since shared her excitement at being cast as the iconic royal, noting she will "strive to do [Diana] justice".

"I have been glued to the show and to think I'm joining this incredibly talented acting family is surreal. Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring," she said.

"Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To be given the chance to explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will strive to do her justice!"

Corrin's previous roles include the soon-to-be released film Misbehaviour, an episode of the 1960s-set detective drama Grantchester and as a series regular in Epix’s new Batman show Pennyworth.

The young actress will be joining Olivia Coleman, who's set to play the Queen, and Helena Bonham Carter who is to play Princess Margaret.
