Eva McGauley, the New Zealand teenager who got to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle while they were in the country has passed away.

Eva was first diagnosed with a rare type of neck cancer - asopharyngeal carcinoma, when she was just 16.

Despite her diagnosis, Eva continued to raise money for a sexual abuse assistance programme and then founding Eva's Wish.

She met the royal couple on the 30th of October at Government House in Wellington.

Eva was initially invited to the Prime Minister's Reception in Auckland but due to her health, she wasn't allowed to fly.

After hearing about Eva's story, Meghan and Harry invited her for the quick meeting in Wellington.

Talking about the amazing experience on Instagram, she says: "I am so honoured and thankful to have been invited to Government House to meet with Meghan and Harry this morning!!!
